St. Martin’s Paige Baronich signs to continue her tennis career at MGCCC

Paige Baronich is a senior at St. Martin high school. Although her senior season hasn’t started just yet, she already knows where she will be taking her talents at the next level.

On Wednesday, Baronich signed to play tennis at Mississippi Gulf Coast community college – place that she says is special to her and feels like home. WXXV sports director Jevan McCoskey caught up with the former WXXV Student Athlete of the Week and she spoke about what the day meant to her.

“I am so excited,” Baronich said. “I think I have had this dream for three years. That might not sound like that long but I started tennis so late, so just the fact that I improved enough to play at the next level just means so much to me. A very small percentage of athletes do make it to the next level; whether that’s community college, D1, D2 or D3 and I don’t even care because I am moving on to the next level. That’s, you know, a feat in its own.”
