01/03 Ryan’s “Rollercoaster” Friday Morning Forecast

We're used to a temperature rollercoaster here in South MS, but these next few days are going to see a wild swing.

The South Mississippi temperature rollercoaster has been on full display over the last few days, and it’ll continue through the weekend as well! This afternoon will be the warmest since we began 2025 on Wednesday, with a high near 65 and mostly sunny skies, but we’re heading back into a short-lived cooldown. A very short-lived cooldown in fact, since we’ll end up warming up back into the 70s by the start of next week. After that though, things chill out to say the least. Highs will fall into the 40s from Monday into the weekend, waking up with lows in the 20s for most of the week as well. In fact, when things finally begin to “moderate” by next Friday morning and start to warm up, we’ll still only be a degree or so above freezing by then…so get ready for a long cold period after this upcoming mild weekend.
