Moss Point Living Legends

A group of successful professionals are trying to inspire Moss Point youth by giving students words of motivation and advice.
The group of guest speakers call themselves Moss Point’s Living Legends. Among the group are esteemed Moss Point alumni, a professional athlete, a website designer, an attorney, a major in the U.S. Army and a couple established musicians.
The Living Legends event was put on by the Moss Point School District. The group gave presentations and spoke at Escatawpa Upper Elementary, Magnolia Middle School and Moss Point High School. A lot of the discussion centered on setting and obtaining strong educational and career goals.
Cortez Pollard is a major in the United States Army. He said, “I’m homebred. I’m from here so I feel like it’s my obligation for me to come back to communicate with the kids.”
Don Carey III plays professional football with the Detroit Lions. He said, “A lot of times, we see people on TV saying you can do good but that’s just abstract. Make something tangible where a child can feel, that gives them extra motivation that they can do it too.”
