10/14 – Trey Tonnessen’s “Yacht” Monday Night Forecast

Meteorologist Trey Tonnessen

Our front may not make it much further southward over the next 18 hours or so. It will likely take the shortwave lobe near Lake Superior rotating through the base of the trough later in the day on Tuesday to force the frontal boundary offshore. Forecast soundings don`t strongly indicate cloud cover tomorrow, but it can`t be ruled out during the morning and early afternoon hours. Cooler and drier air will be plunging into the area overnight tomorrow night, and there is at least a small chance that a brief Wind Advisory may be necessary immediately south of Lake Pontchartrain during the overnight hours Tuesday night.
