Temporary railroad crossing closures in Jackson County
HATTIESBURG, MISS— The Mississippi Department of Transportation is alerting motorists of several temporary railroad crossing closures starting Thursday, Oct. 10, continuing through Monday, Oct. 28 in Jackson County.
The closures are happening along U.S. 90 as CSX railroad performs maintenance at ten railroad crossings. The work will be performed from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
The closures of the individual railroad crossings are expected to last one day. After work is completed, the railroad crossings will be re-opened to traffic.
Work will be performed at the following crossings:
- US 90 at Chicot Rd
- US 90 at Orange Grove Rd
- US 90 at Haleys Cir
- US 90 at Chevron Dr
- US 90 at Industrial Rd
- US 90 at Hospital St
- US 90 14th ST
- US 90 at Market St
- US 90 at Pascagoula St
- US 90 at Magnolia St
Message boards will be placed alerting motorists of the upcoming closures. Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route, and are reminded to be on high alert for roadside workers.
