Flood risk by bodies of water after Francine

One of the bigger lingering concerns following Francine’s landfall is flooding, especially near bodies of water.

At Howard Creek off Cedar Lake Road, you can see water levels are still rising.

Scattered all along Cedar Lake Road are patches of water and fully drenched sidebars.

Cedar Lake Road runs through Howards Creek and Tchoutacabouffa River. Roads like this that run along a body of water are the most at risk at this time.

City of Biloxi Public Affairs Manager Cecilia Dobbs Walton said, “That’s really the big thing is the rivers and when they crest. That’s when some areas like by Cedar Lake Bridge where water might come over the road way later today.”
