Harrison County Board of Supervisors closes sand beaches due to Tropical Storm Francine

Harrison County, MS – At the recommendation of Emergency Management Agency Director Matt Stratton, the Harrison County Board of Supervisors has made the decision to close all sand beaches in Harrison County, effective 12:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 11, 2024.

This closure is due to the expected excessive storm surge and potential safety hazards associated with Tropical Storm Francine.

The safety of residents and visitors is the top priority, and the Board of Supervisors urges everyone to avoid the beaches and take necessary precautions as the storm approaches
