Sheriff’s Department lifts lockdown at Harrison Central

Superintendent Speaks On Gun Brought To Harrison Central High School

Harrison Central High School was on lockdown for about an hour Friday as a precautionary measure after a threatening phone call came in to the school.

District spokeswoman Trang Pham Bui confirmed the lockdown and said notification went out to parents at 2:39 p.m. The lockdown was lifted about an hour later.

The notification told parents the school was in “lockdown mode” due to a situation on campus.

Harrison County Sheriff Matt Haley said his investigators are working to locate the source of the call. Deputies also worked to clear the area before students were released from the lockdown.
