Harrison County sheriffs investigating Monday morning death of pedestrian

Harrison County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating the death of a pedestrian early Monday morning and are searching for a suspect.

Deputies believe the accident happened between two and three in the morning on Orange Grove Road and Azalea Trace.

Deputies found a man lying dead in the roadway. Harrison County Coroner Brian Switzer identified the victim as 38-year-old Patrick Howard III of Gulfport. He died of blunt force trauma, Switzer said.

No vehicles were near the scene at the time of the man’s discovery.
