Vancleave man to serve 9 years for possession of child pornography

A Vancleave man will serve 9 years in prison after pleading guilty to possessing more than 83,000 images of child pornography.

U.S. Judge Sul Ozerden sentenced 68-year-old Cameron “Cam” Cotrill on Friday. He will serve 9 years with 10 years supervised release and pay $237,194.12 in restitution plus other assessments.

He also must register as a sex offender.

According to court documents, Cotrill served as a media manager at a local church.

He was indicted in June 2023 on two counts of possession of child pornography and distribution of child pornography.

In December 2023, Cotrill agreed to plead guilty to one count of a two-count indictment charging him with possession of three hard drives containing photos of child pornography.

He also must forfeit his computer.
