Southern Miss visits Gulfport with 2024 Gulf Coast Beach Bash event

On Thursday, the Southern Miss Alumni Association held their Gulf Coast Beach Bash event at Sully’s in Gulfport.

Golden Eagles fans and alumni gathered together to hear from the schools president, athletic director, and head football coach Will Hall. This was one of the many stops throughout the Magnolia state that the Alumni Association has been to this summer. Sports 25 had the chance to speak with coach Hall before the event and he spoke on how important South Mississippi is to him, his football program, and the entire University of Southern Miss.

“Yeah, I think it is super important,” he said. “Southern Miss is the coast, the coast is Southern Miss. We recruit the state of Mississippi harder than anyone in the country. I think we are over 70 players on our team are from Mississippi. Obviously, the coast is an integral part of that. I love coming downing here for this alumni event. This is one of our bigger ones that we have for the summer.”

The Golden Eagles open their season next month on Aug. 31st where they will be on the road against the Kentucky Wildcats.
