Collapsed drainage pipe causes hole in the ground in Gulfport neighborhood

A collapsed drainage pipe has caused a hole in the ground to form in a Gulfport neighborhood off Wind Rose Cir.

Residents have been worried as the hole was here prior to Monday’s weather but with all that heavy rain we experienced it has grown in size.

Caution tape has been placed around it to keep residents safe from possibly falling in.

The hole itself is about 5 feet deep, and 15-20 feet long.

Gulfport City officials stating it was a collapsed drainage pipe that caused the hole to open up. The city has assessed the damage and has stated “the collapsed pipe has been opened, and a permanent replacement is in the design phase, with construction scheduled for late summer.”

Until then the hole is fairly close to the road. And road that was actually flooded on Monday from all the rain we got.
