Arrest made in shooting at Celtic Irish Pub in Pascagoula

Pascagoula Police have made an arrest in the Wednesday night shooting at a local pub.
Officers were sent to the Celtic Irish Pub on Chicot Street after a call came in about a shooting.
When officers arrived, they were told a man had been shot and taken to a local hospital in a personal vehicle.
Officers followed up on information gathered about the shooting and identified 23-year-old Richard Benward Jr., as the suspect.
A warrant was issued for his arrest and Benward was arrested near Live Oak Avenue on Thursday and charged with aggravated assault. He was taken to the Jackson County jail and bond was set at $50,000.
