New Orleans Saints looking to revamp offense under new OC Klint Kubiak
It’s no secret that the New Orleans Saints are looking to improve on the offensive side of the ball in the 2024-2025 season, and there are many things pointing in the right direction for the Black and Gold’s offensive goals.
IN 2023 the New Orleans Saints offense ranked 9th in points scored per game., despite finding themselves at the bottom of the NFL rankings in stats like yards per catch. The Saints finished in the bottom four teams in the league with 10.4 yards per pass caught.
If they want to tale the next step to an above average offense in 2024 – a few things need to happen.
- Quarterback Derek Carr needs to be more consistent.
- Alvin Kamara needs to be present.
- According to head coach Dennis Allen, yards after the catch is where his offense can improve.
“I don’t think we have done a good enough job in yards after catch,” he said. “Some of that is scheme related and some of that is technique related, you know, guys being able to catch the ball and get north and south rather than running from sideline to sideline. That is an area that we have to improve on. The timing and the rhythm in the passing game, getting the ball out of the quarterbacks hand a little bit faster, might allow us to create a little bit more separation early in the down and a little bit more run after the catch.”
Training camp begins for the New Orleans Saints on July 24 in Irvine, CA.
