Gulf Coast Association of Pride celebrates Pride Day 2024
Saturday marked the beginning of Pride Month across the United States and the community showed up at Point Cadet in Biloxi to celebrate.
The Gulf Coast Association of Pride hosted their annual kickoff event this past weekend. Many from around the Coast came to celebrate with songs, encouragement, and laughter.
The all-day event also brought out special guest speakers to share their stories of coming to love their sexuality. Attendee Phillip Scarborough said, “Celebration of who we are as a community and just not worrying about what people think about us. Different for us 48 years ago, that we couldn’t even rent a one-bedroom apartment together because we were two guys and been fired from jobs because we were gay, but the youth today, they have a brighter future than we did.”
Pride Month lasts all of Junes with tons of events along the Coast.
