Pascagoula man charged with abusing 3-year-old

A Pascagoula man has been charged with child abuse after a report came in from a health professional.

Pascagoula Police say 23-year-old Leonardo Ordonez was arrested Thursday on one count of child abuse causing serious bodily harm. He was taken to the Jackson County jail. No bond has been set.

Police say hospital officials reported that a 3-year-old brought into the hospital had injuries consistent with abuse. After investigating the report, detectives arrested Ordonez.

The investigation is ongoing.
