5/8 – Trey Tonnessen’s “Region Moisture” Wednesday Evening Forecast
Meteorologist Trey Tonnessen
The main story of the short term period is tomorrow’s chance of severe weather. All of the WXXV viewing area is highlighted in a SLIGHT Risk by the Storm Prediction Center for mainly wind and hail. Currently there is quite a bit of model disagreement. Many of them show a mesoscale convective system forming somewhere back in Texas and they diverge from there. Most have this system staying to our north, however as we have seen with past events until this system actually forms it can have a more north bias. There isn`t much in the way of directional shear, but decent speed shear, so tornadoes are less of an issue for our area.
As always: A cloudy day is no match for a sunny disposition. Be nice to each other.
