5/7 – Trey Tonnessen’s “Coast Heat” Tuesday Evening Forecast

Meteorologist Trey Tonnessen

Even though we were much more favorable in terms of weather to start the workweek, there have been transitional changes in our weather pattern that will make outdoor activities less comfortable through the end of this week. On the Mississippi coast, our weather pattern will evolve to a more active southwesterly flow aloft. That said, any shortwave or impulse within this flow looks to stay to our north and a cold frontal boundary begins to hang up within the mean flow across the ArkLaTex and points northeast toward the Cumberland Plateau and lower Sequatchie Valley of east Tennessee. As heights and thicknesses continue to rise through the end of the short term period, expect temperatures to respond with much of the area again reaching at least 90 degrees outside of the immediate coast.

As always: A cloudy day is no match for a sunny disposition. Be nice to each other.
