Pearl River Community College softball continues to roll as the postseason quickly approaches
Baseball isn’t the only team on a diamond making headlines for Pearl River Community College as the Lady Wildcats are just four wins away from securing back-to-back 40 win seasons for the first time in school history.
Wit just eight regular season games remaining – anything is possible.
The Wildcats are currently ranked 5gh in the country and have no signs of slowing down anytime soon.
Sports 25 had the chance to speak with head coach Christie Meeks ahead of Monday’s practice on why this team continues to grow year after year.
“You know it means a lot, not only to us, but to the school and to this program to just continue to get better,” said coach Meeks. “This group is really special. They’ve got a goal, they’ve set a goal, and their eyes are set on that goal. They are not taking their eyes off of it, they are not getting distracted by anything so I am really proud of them.”
The program record for wins in a season for the Lady Wildcats was set last year with 43. With eight more regular season, plus the postseason, it’s possible that could be broken by the end of this year.
