West Harrison hosts track meet with some of the best discus throwers in the Magnolia State
West Harrison high school was home to a well attended track and field competition where nearly all schools from the southern six counties were represented. Several different events took place inside and outside the Hurricane football stadium, but one highly competitive event with some of the very best athletes in the state was discus.
For the girls, our former WXXV Student Athlete of the Week and DIiberville’s Aryn Eady not only placed first with a 145 ‘7” throw, and she also broke the school, meet and venue record. West Harrison’s Sydnei Barber finished first with a 106’ throw.
For the boys, D’Iberville also took this one home in the form of Adrian Miles who threw for 157 ‘9”, also breaking the school, meet, and venue record. Following him, Harrison Central’s Jadan Miller came in second with 156’ 9”, also the school record, and St. Stanislaus’ Brett Tyler took third with 132’3”.
Earlier that morning, Christian Collegiate Academy’s Sean Fairley won the William Carey High School Challenge with a 170 ‘3 ” throw which broke the meet and venue record as just a Sophomore.
