3/14 – Trey Tonnessen’s “Reduced Visibility” Thursday Evening Forecast
Meteorologist Trey Tonnessen
A few showers have popped up across the area, but no significant impacts are expected and any showers or storms should dissipate by shortly after sunset. Then comes the fog question. There is fog potential tonight, especially for coastal areas near and east of the Mississippi River. With forecast low ceilings, the fog setup is not a foregone conclusion. We would likely need to have at least some advective component, but with shelf water temperatures now sitting in the mid to upper 60s except for where cooler river discharge has held temps down a few degrees, it`s not a slam dunk for dense marine fog development. We will have more on the next few days and our thunderstorm chances coming up tonight at 9PM and 10PM.
As always: A cloudy day is no match for a sunny disposition. Be nice to each other.
