Tattoo artists gather for Due South Tattoo and Art Expo

Tattoo artists came together to display their art for the annual Due South Tattoo and Art Expo over the weekend.

The expo kicked off Friday at the IP Casino and Resort. Tattoo artists from across the Gulf South and the country made their way to this convention.

Ocean Springs based Twisted Anchor Tattoo Gallery hosted the convention. Artists and consumers were able to collaborate to share their love of the art.

Local tattoo artist and event coordinator Matt Stebly shares where the unique idea to bring a tattoo expo to the Coast originated. “I spent a long time traveling all over the world at shows like this and you know I really wanted to be able to bring like something like that to, you know where I grew up, where I kind of started, and knew that there wasn’t something like that around. I’m always honored that people let me, you know, put permanent, you know, pictures on their body forever.”
