North Bay Civitan Club Hold Teddy Bear Drive for Kids
They are asking people to donate new or lightly used teddy bears that will benefit the Fort Bayou Volunteer Fire Department. Over 100 bears have already been donated. Teddy bears collected will be distributed to children who might be scared during times of emergencies to give them some sort of comfort.
Keith Wilson, President of the North Bay Civitan Club, says, “One of the things that we’re also doing with the teddy bears is that we’re going to be tying tags to them that has a message from the Civitan Club that shows a little bit of love and comfort towards the children who may receive them from an emergency.”
Saturday, Civitan Club members and the Fort Bayou Volunteer Fire Department will be set up behind Newk’s Eatery and the AT&T store in D’Iberville collecting teddy bears.
