Jackson County Board of Supervisors holds State of the County Address
This afternoon, Jackson County Board of Supervisors held its State of the County Address.
District Four Supervisor Troy Ross currently holds the presidency seat on the board. Supervisor Ross began the address detailing the economic growth the county has seen over the last few years.
Ross says the main focus aside from economic growth is on infrastructure, parks and recreation, and public safety of its people.
He says the county will continue to attack cleaning up Jackson County with the county’s clean up initiative.
The supervisors tell us continuous development is essential to putting Jackson County at the forefront of the state. “We want to make sure we complete the road projects we started and a lot of infrastructure, especially in district 4, we’ve got major projects wrapping up and some that are starting. Continue to press to get new economic development in Jackson County. A couple of big projects have come to talk to us about Cook Road already. So, Jackson County can do all the things, make sure we’re prepared, we’re ready, and we develop the things we need to move forward. We can silently become a leader for the state by doing that.”
$267 million in taxes were collected in last year’s fiscal year for the county.
