Jackson County investigating shots fired at weekend party in Gulf Park Estates

Jackson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a report of shots fired at a party in Gulf Park Estates on Saturday night.

Deputies were sent to the 3000 block of North Street about 10:15 p.m. Saturday after a report of gunshots at a large party came in.

Several people were detained and vehicles were struck by gunfire, but no injuries were reported.

During a search of the area, investigators found several guns. Sheriff John Ledbetter said the weapons were found in residents’ trash cans, in yards and under vehicles.

The Sheriff’s Office is asking that anyone with video from the party contact Investigator Philip Pearson at 228-769-3063.  All information will be kept confidential.
