Fishing licenses available in Pass Christian
Get your rod and reels ready. Starting this Wednesday through June, the Mississippi Department of Marine Resources will sell commercial fishing licenses in Pass Christian.
Marine patrol officers will be at MDMR’s oyster check station in the Pass Christian Harbor from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. each Wednesday and Friday through June 2.
Fishermen wanting to purchase a commercial license should bring their boat registration and driver’s license. Melissa Scallan with the Department of Marine Resources public relations said, “They generally need to get a fishing license, renew it, before shrimp season begins in June. We’re going to offer that for them. We have a good number of fishermen who launch from Pass Christian and they live in that area so we’re going to offer that to them so they don’t have to drive to Biloxi to get their license.”
Fishing licenses expire on April 30th.
