9th annual Kids Safety Fair
The 9th annual Kids Safety Fair was a fun and informative time for visitors in attendance.
Mississippi Power and Hancock Whitney joined WJZD 94.5 FM and the Salvation Army’s Kroc Center to put on the Kid’s Safety Fair.
Kids had an opportunity to meet Santa and Mrs. Claus and spend some time with Louie the Lightning Bug as well.
There was also a craft fair where gifts could be purchased.
Tips were provided on how to safely deal with electricity, swimming, wearing seat belts, and other important topics. Salvation Army Area Commander Major Jerry Friday said, “It is extremely important to teach children about safety. We have their attention because they’re here to see Santa. The excitement is in the air. The radio station is playing some great music and all of the families are visiting the safety fair and kids are learning the importance of wearing seatbelts, electricity and the danger that can happen.”
The fair was free to the public and guests had the opportunity to eat breakfast with Santa Claus for a charge of $5.
