MS Dept. of Mental Health reminds residents help is available as Mental Health Awareness Month ends

The Mississippi Department of Mental Health is reminding people that help is available as Mental Health Awareness Month comes to a close.

Mississippians can find services through its helpline, the mental health Mississippi website, and the newly launched Mississippi Cares website.

DMH says programs across the state provide support for children, young adults, and people experiencing severe mental illness, all aimed at helping prevent hospitalizations and connect people with care sooner.

The department is also highlighting the 988 Suicide and Crisis lifeline, which connects its callers with trained crisis counselors and local mobile crisis response teams.

There are now more resources and services available than ever before and anyone struggling is urged to reach out for help and being their recovery journey.
