11/30 – Trey’s “Showers Approaching” Thursday Night Forecast
Meteorologist Trey Tonnessen
Throughout Thursday, we’ve been monitoring the changing potential for showers and thunderstorms across Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi. The day started with three levels of severe risk issued by the Storm Prediction Center. Fairly quickly into the midday hours, the Storm Prediction Center dropped their overall encompassing risk areas to a marginal and slight risk. During the afternoon hours, some convection cranked up into Texas, but didn’t look as strong heading into Louisiana. Our risk for severe thunderstorms was already much lower than areas to the west, but heading into the overnight hours, it appears lower than initially anticipated as well. Multiple rounds of rainfall, showers, and a few thunderstorms is likely through the overnight hours into Friday morning, but doesn’t appear overly concerning at this time.
As always: A cloudy day is no match for a sunny disposition. Be nice to each other.
