Fugitive wanted out of North Carolina, Virginia captured in Carriere

U.S. Marshals and the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Office arrested a wanted felon at a home on Laser Lane in Carriere on Tuesday morning.

30-year-old James Bearrie Hylton was wanted on a federal probation violation out of North Carolina as well as a warrant out of Virginia for malicious wounding, possession of a firearm, use of a firearm in commission of a felony and discharging a firearm in an occupied dwelling.

Hylton also is believed to be a member of the Blood gang and was considered a violent, armed, dangerous fugitive.

Marshals and deputies converged on the house in Carriere after receiving information that Hylton was there. Officials called for occupants to leave the house and Hylton was arrested without incident.

Once in custody, officers searched the home and found methamphetamines and a .45 caliber firearm hidden in a trash can.
