Groundbreaking held for new fire station in Tradition
Harrison County leaders broke ground on a new fire station in the tradition area.
Fire station number 15 is located on Tradition Parkway just off Highway 67 near the new veterans home.
The facility will be a modern headquarters for Harrison County firefighters in that area of the county.
The land was donated by Joseph C. Canizaro, who has played a big part in developing tradition.
For the area to continue its growth, it’s important that resources are available to the area.
“But, the big picture is the growth out here that’s coming along is very important, and being able to protect that growth is important to the Harrison County board of supervisors,” said Harrison County fire chief Pat Sullivan, “They’ve supported this, they’ve given the funding to build the station, the donation from the Canizaro family. It is all a partnership to get us where we’re at.”
More jobs will be on the horizon because of this. The Harrison County Fire Department will be hiring to fill station 15.
