Fall baseball begins at MGM Park
It was an exciting Sunday afternoon in Biloxi as MGM hosted their first pair of Division I fall exhibition games.
Samford University and Southeastern Louisiana meeting in the middle for two highly competitive matchups before beginning the 2024 baseball season.
In the end, Southeastern won both games over the Samford Bulldogs.
Win or lose, what ultimately mattered to a few local players is the ability to come back home and play the sport they love in front of family and friends.
News 25 caught up with the Robb Brothers from Vancleave to talk about their return to the Coast. Southeastern Louisiana pitcher Hayden Robb said, “It’s been a really cool experience having him here. It’s something that you dream of as a kid, especially for my parents, it’s really cool for them.”
Southeastern Louisiana Carson Robb said, “I grew up, I didn’t even get to be in high school with him. Now I get to play two years in college with him. It’s, you know, my parents love it. They don’t have to split up and go one way, the other, the way we did in travel ball days. It just means a lot because he’s been a huge role model in my life and I finally get to share the field with him.”
The game was extra special to the pair of brothers because it was the first time they shared the baseball diamond together due to their six-year age gap.
The next pair of exhibitions games will be next Saturday, November 4th as Biloxi hosts Auburn and Louisiana Tech.
