Gautier PD investigating shooting on I-10

GAUTIER, MS – On Saturday, September 9, 2023 at around 2:00 a.m., the Gautier Police Department responded to a reported shooting on Interstate 10, near the Martin Bluff Rd overpass.

Officers located two gunshot victims, with non-life-threatening injuries. Both victims were transported to local hospitals by Acadian Ambulance Service.
The victims’ vehicle was shot at by another vehicle while traveling west on Interstate 10, near the Westbound Rest Area. After the shooting both, vehicles crashed into each other and came to a stop near the Martin Bluff Rd overpass.

Three black male suspects abandoned their vehicle and fled the area on foot.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office and the Southwest Metro Enforcement Team assisted Gautier police officers in searching the area for the suspects, but they were not found.

Investigators believe the shooting is related to an altercation that occurred in Moss Point prior to the shooting.
