If you’re like me and very tired of this ongoing never ending oppressive heat tuned to the end of this article you will love what I have to say. Tonight temperatures will slowly drop in to the upper 70s across the area with a west wind. As for the weekend is going to be down right hot with a highs in the upper 90s with some spots even reaching the century  mark with both days bringing a 20 percent chance of relief from a afternoon shower or thunderstorm.

As we head into Monday a cold front will start to move into the central portions of our state bringing an increasing chance of showers and thunderstorms. Temperatures on Monday will be much cooler around average for a day time high with mostly cloudy skies. On Tuesday a front starts to move through the area keeping rain chance’s elevated and temperatures in the the upper 80s. This is very welcoming to the area as we need the rain and the cooler weather. The front will begin to stall out as we head into Wednesday. At the same time a tropical disturbance will be moving through the Gulf of Mexico. The front will aid in keeping it away from the Mississippi coast but the rain chances will stay elevated and temperatures will remain below average. This trend will continue through  next Friday as temperatures remain below average and we will continue  to receive much needed rain.
