Gamma is calling it quits after completing six years of active duty.

He is a part of the 81st Security Forces Squadron and was on-call from Niger, New York City, and everywhere in between.

The MWD has completed three deployments and multiple missions supporting the U.S. Secret Service.

The German Shepard is a certified explosive detector and patrol dog.

Technical Sergeant Colin Lewis details Gamma’s playful personality and Gamma’s adoption into a new family.

“He is the spunkiest and sneakiest dog that we could find. He likes to steal treats, hats, whatever he can find,” said Sgt. Lewis, the kennel master. “There is some sadness involved into it because we’re going to miss gamma. He’s an exceptional dog. And he’s he’s part of the family, but we’re extremely excited to see him go to a loving home.”

Gamma will now get to spend the rest of his life enjoying his hobbies: getting wet in the kiddy pool and playing with his favorite toy.
