Ansley Brent Joins WXXV Morning News Crew
(GULFPORT, MS) August 23, 2023 — WXXV welcomed a new face to its weekday morning news this week. Reporter Ansley Brent made her debut as the newest member of the “News 25 Today” anchor team alongside co-anchor Grant Chighizola and Chief Meteorologist Rob Knight on Monday. Brent replaces Meggan Gray, who left the news business at the end of July to take a position at St. Patrick Catholic High School and spend more time with her family.
“What an absolute dream come true it is getting to work for WXXV in this new capacity and what an honor it is working with two of the best people I know, Grant and Rob. Let the morning shenanigans begin!” says Brent.
Brent has been a sports reporter at WXXV since May of 2022 helping produce popular franchise segments like “Student Athlete of the Week,” “Friday Night Showcase,” and “25 Teams in 25 Days.”
“I just know everyone will love her sunny personality and commitment to the news you need each day. We are going to have so much fun,” says Chighizola.
Brent will continue to produce her weekly “Student Athlete of the Week,” segments every Thursday starting this September and help out the sports team.
The new trio can be seen every weekday morning from 5am to 7am on WXXV NBC 25 and from 5am to 9am on WXXV FOX 25.
