Shootout at Gun Shop
New developments in the gun shop shooting in Pearl River County over the weekend that left the store’s owner and his dead and two customers, who were also a father and son duo, in the hospital.
Chief Deputy Shane Tucker tells News 25 that 52-year-old Audy McCool and his son, 29-year-old Michael McCool, are now in stable condition. As of now, no charges have been filed against them.
On Sunday afternoon, 44-year-old Jason McLemore and his son, 17-year-old Jacob McLemore, were killed when gunfire broke out between them and the other father-son duo at the McLemore Gun Shop on Mississippi 43.
Authorities believe the shooting broke out during an argument over gun repair charges. Tucker says it’s still uncertain who pulled out a gun first.
Crosses and notes of condolences stand outside the boarded up gun shop in Pearl River County as the investigation continues.
