Peoples Bank donates to Dream Program
The Peoples Bank is giving back to the people by donating $8,800 to the Dream Program.
The Dream Program provides inclusive leisure activities and recreational experiences to individuals with varying abilities.
They rely only on volunteers and donations to provide more than 300 people with fun, athletic, and artistic programs.
Each year, the staff at Peoples Bank donate money for one organization of their choosing.
It’s not just about getting a strike or playing the perfect game. This bowling alley is buzzing with conversation and laughter. News 25’s Brooke Parker talked to Peoples Bank and the Dream Program about what donations like these really create. C.J. Dunaway with the Peoples Bank said, “I brought it to the committee this year because I have a nephew who’s also in the Dream Program. I just feel like the Dream Program is a worthwhile here along the Mississippi Gulf Coast. We have over 250 athletes and we are allowed to get them involved with basketball, football, softball, bowling.”
Billy Dungan with the Dream Program said, “Everything that we do seems to turn into a big social event for people with disabilities because once they get out of high school, if they’re not fortunate enough to have a job, which most are not, then they have no social outreach. We’re excited to give them this opportunity here with the Old Spanish Trail for them to come out and just bowl and enjoy each other’s company here.”
