8/11 – Jeff Vorick’s “Very, Very HOT” Friday Evening Forecast
More heat continues in the area. The mercury reached 100 degrees at Gulfport earlier, breaking the daily record of 99 degrees. Many spots have been feeling like 115 degrees. Skies will clear out this evening and winds will be southerly overnight. Again, it will be very warm and humid to start the weekend.
Saturday brings more brutal heat and dangerous heat indices. Heat alerts will be in effect all weekend as has been the case. Be sure to stay safe with any outdoor activities as the level of heat stress has added up. There are very isolated thunderstorm chances for tomorrow.
Appreciable rain chances begin to return for Sunday, and the new week. But, there will be a lot more dry time and the heat will continue to be the main issue. There is no real end to the above-average heat in sight.
