Free Expungement Clinic in Jackson County

It’s Restoration Day here on the Gulf Coast and those with criminal records could soon be starting with a clean slate.

The Mississippi Center for Justice hosted an expungement clinic at the Jackson County Public Library in Pascagoula.

Expungement clinics play a crucial role in helping individuals clear their criminal records.

Expungement allows people to have certain criminal offenses removed or sealed from their records, which can significantly improve their employment prospects, housing opportunities, and overall quality of life.

Those with misdemeanors and felonies will be meeting with attorneys to help them restore their rights. Mississippi Center for Justice Attorney Ian Gustafson said, “You know, it can be expensive to navigate this process with a paid attorney. So, I think providing these opportunities for people to get this done for free. It’s important and that’s why we do it.”
