8/10 – Chris’s “HUMID FLOW” Thursday afternoon forecast

I know folks  we sound like a broken record, however another day of oppressive heat is in store for our area this afternoon.  This means that there is an EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING until 7PM this afternoon for heat indices from 110-116. This will come under mostly sunny skies which will make today feel like the hottest day of the week. Another thing worth mentioning is winds will be quit breezy this afternoon out of the southwest at around 8-12 mph.   There is EXCESSIVE HEAT WATCH FROM 11AM – 7PM  Friday for heat indices from 110-116. Rain chances will be hard to come by today and Friday as the never ending  heat wave continues. As we head into the weekend  temperatures are in the upper 90s with a slight chance of  a thunderstorm Saturday afternoon.

Sunday is when we return to a more typical summertime pattern with the mid 90s expected. This means we will see elevated thunderstorm chances for Sunday and Monday as the sea-breeze kicks back up again. This trend will continue into the start of the new work week as a front moves to the north of the area on Tuesday and Wednesday. This however  will not bring much relief to the oppressive heat we have had. Temperatures next Wednesday finally are in the low 90s, however it is still above average.
