Bomb Threat at St. Martin Junior High

On January 13, 2016, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department responded to the St. Martin Junior High School for a report of a bomb threat. The School Resource Officer assigned to the school received a call from the principal advising that a student had found a note in the bathroom stating a bomb will blow at 2:00. The School Resource Officer contacted the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department Criminal Investigation Division and investigators responded to the scene. The Jackson County Sheriff’s Department Explosive and Ordinance Detection K-9 Handler was also notified to respond.
After further questioning it was determined that the student that found the note also wrote it. The student, age 14, was arrested and transported to the Jackson County Youth Detention Center on the charge of; Bomb Threat – False Reporting of Bomb or
