8/1 – The Chief’s “DANGEROUS HEATWAVE CONTINUES” Tuesday Afternoon Forecast

The main focus through this afternoon and the  next couple of days will be the continuation of Excessive heat across the southern six counties.  AN EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING is valid until 7 pm today for heat indices from 110 to 116 degrees. This is a very good day to limit time outside and practice summertime safety tips. Tomorrow is very similar but there is a very slim chance of a stray shower or thunderstorm. Temperatures will ease a tad bit  to the mid-90s on Thursday and Friday with a very slim chance of a stray shower or thunderstorm. Saturday looks to be the last day of oppressive heat as we head back to a more typical summertime pattern. Sunday and Monday we will see close to average daytime highs with elevated rain chances due to the sea-breeze.
