Cleaner Properties Along Highway 90

If you take a drive along Highway 90 in Biloxi, you may notice that properties and empty lots might look a little neater.
That’s because the city recently sent out letters to property owners asking them to clean up. Many of the properties had overgrown grass or debris scattered around. Leaders say this was not the look they wanted along the beach for visitors.
In addition to just looking nice, city officials believe a nice looking environment might attract more development on the waterfront. Public Affairs Manager Vincent Creel said, “The city has prompted some of the property owners to begin clearing up some of the underbrush that has grown on their property so that people can see the potential whenever they drive by there. They can see the vacant land that is just prime for either new homes or commercial activity.”
City leaders tell News 25 they are pleased with the results and say almost all property owners took it upon themselves to clean up their land once they received the letter.
