Community comes out to the Charles R. Hegwood Community Market in Biloxi
The Charles R. Hegwood Community Market was the place to be this morning.
Dozens and dozens of vendors set up under the I-110 Bridge overpass on Howard Avenue for the Charles R. Hegwood Community Market, also known as the Biloxi Community Festival Market.
Every Tuesday and Thursday, people have the opportunity to buy and sell unique items while enjoying some live music.
Items for sale include fresh produce, plants, jewelry, and bird houses customized for different bird types made by Long Beach native Ron Robertson. “I’m an engineer by profession and I sit home and draw these things up, then go out into my garage and make a new toy or new product.”
Market Vendor Laura Roe said, “We’re been here three years. I love it. People are like family here. We all help each other and every time we come here we meet all kinds of people from all over the world really. It’s lovely. Everybody loves it here.”
If you missed out on the fun today, don’t worry. The market will be open next Tuesday from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.
