Gulf Coast Wooden and Classic Boat Show returned to the Coast
Boaters were taken back in time this weekend as historic boats hit the water in Biloxi.
The Billy Creel Gulf Coast Wooden and Classic Boat Show was hosted by the Maritime and Seafood Industry Museum, making its first appearance back on the Coast since 2019.
The Biloxi Schooner Pier was filled with dozens of unique boats and antique vessels for guests to view and learn more about the history of sailing and boating.
There were also fun arts and crafts activities for the kids, along with a flea market, seafood plates, and the Biloxi schooners sailing every hour on the hour.
Boat Owner Greg Lemons says he’s happy to have the boat show back. “This boat show is about boat owners and not more of the festival. So, you got a lot of people in here that wanna talk boats and wanna do boats and have been in the same predicaments that we are and boats. So, it’s a great boat show.”
The Billy Creel Memorial Gulf Coast Wooden and Classic Boat Show was shut down for four years as a result of hurricanes, but organizers say it was great to be back as well.
