Gulf Coast Association of Pride celebrates 5th annual Pride Day
The Gulf Coast Association of Pride held its fifth annual Pride Day over the weekend.
More than 100 vendors took over Point Cadet Park, some providing health and safety information while others sold art and other merchandise.
Guests in attendance were dressed in rainbow flags and clothing and enjoyed live music, guest speakers, and other performers.
Gulf Coast Association of Pride President Walter Pitts says the event provides a safe space for inclusion. “I get choked up with words because when I was younger, we didn’t have this. To see people enjoying themselves and having the free and inviting place to come is just amazing. They’re having a great time.”
Pride Month is celebrated every year during the month of June with National Pride Day falling on June 28th.
