Memorial Day at the beach

As the extra-long Memorial Day Weekend wraps up, families across the Coast are enjoying some quality time together.

Families were seen unwinding on Front Beach in Ocean Springs and making the most of the holiday.

It’s not just about rest and relaxation for these families. They are taking the time to reflect on the significance of Memorial Day and express their gratitude to the military personnel who have made the ultimate sacrifice. Louisiana resident Jamie Smith said, “Just enjoying good times with friends and family, just enjoying the weather, and appreciating all that the veterans have done for us.”

Louisiana resident Melissa Thibodaux said, “It’s important to spend time with family because you never know what tomorrow brings. We have a family that is in the military and my husband was in the Navy. He was able to come home, but not everyone did.”

Ocean Springs resident Dylan Smith said, “We need to remember what it’s about, paying respect to our service men for allowing us to be out here with our family, enjoying the time.”
