Medi-Lift of Mississippi helping patients around the Coast
A non-emergency medical transportation company for disabled patients is dedicated to helping the community.
While working at a local hospital, Julie Faucha noticed how long discharged patients had to wait before getting transported. Julie and her husband, Andrea Faucha, created Medi-Lift of Mississippi to ensure discharged patients in wheelchairs are transported in a timely and safe manner from hospitals, nursing, homes, and hospice facilities.
Medi-Lift picks up patients in a two-hour time of being called and they are allowed to assist the patient out of the chair and into their desired location.
The company does not file insurance, but they have contracts through Memorial Hospital, Gulfport Cares Center, and more. Andrew Faucha said, “I think it’s a good thing that we’re doing for the public and getting great patient care…just taking care of folks. We’re just providing a helping hand and basically that’s it. Just helping out someone that needs our help.”
Medi-Lift went to the Harrison County Board of Supervisors this morning to get certified to transport stretcher-bound patients, which they hope will be coming in the near future.
