Victim, suspect in Gautier shooting are identified

The suspect and the victim in the fatal shooting at the Pure gas station in Gautier on Monday have been identified.

Thomas Rogers, aka Woody

20-year-old Maurice Shannon, a Gautier resident, has been identified as the victim of the fatal shooting.

Detectives have identified Thomas Guy Rogers, as the suspected shooter of Shannon’s death and he is wanted for Murder by the Gautier police department. Rogers has connections and is from the Mobile, AL area.

It is believed Rogers fled back to Mobile after the shooting. He was last seen riding in a White 2019 Honda Accord, Alabama Wildlife Federation Tag: A0R4TM. Rogers is described as a black male, 5’10” tall, weighs 155 lbs. and has multiple tattoos throughout his body.

Gautier police Detectives are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred at the Pure gas station located at 2218 Ladnier Rd. Officers were dispatched to the location at around 3:20 pm on April 3, 2023, for a reported shooting. Officers found Maurice Shannon deceased from gunshot wounds when they arrived on-scene.
